Centre de la Nature Montagnarde (Mountain Nature Centre)

An organisation for education in and awareness of the mountain environment. Since 1985, the CNM has been offering activities and workshops for everyone, all year round. Find out more about the various benefits of becoming a member.

Alpine Gardens: Jardin des Cimes

The Jardin des Cimes is a cultural and teaching space for everybody. It offers you a walk of one hour to discover mountains and garden from all arounbd the world. You can also do activities about gardening and nature and also have a break in the restaurant with local and organic food.

Maison de l'Alpage

Visit the "Maison de l’Alpage" to see the ITINERIO exhibition on "Agriculture and landscapes, the major transformations ".

The Mountain Museum

The Mountain Museum evokes rural mountain life by recreating the rooms in a traditional dwelling and displaying everyday objects used in the Chamonix Valley in days gone by.

Lake: Lac Vert

Situated amidst the forest near Passy Plaine-Joux, this lake is surrounded by spruce trees and reflects the Mont-Blanc. Vehicle access from April to December. Winter access on foot. Classified site.

Mer de Glace

Formed by the confluence of the Leschaux and Géant Glaciers, the Mer de Glace is France’s biggest glacier: 7 km long, surface area 40 km2, 200 m thick, altitude 1913 m.

Baroque Church of Saint Nicolas de Véroce

The church of Saint-Nicolas is one of the crown jewels of Alpine Baroque art. It was built during the first half of the 18th Century using funds provided by expatriates and colporteurs going to the German Low Country.

Glacier des Bossons

This glacier goes down directly from the top of Mont Blanc, the highest alpine summit. The tongue of the glacier reaches 1180m, the lowest in Alps.

The Calvary Way

The Megève Calvary, with chapels depicting scenes of Christ's Passion and located between the village centre and the Mont d'Arbois Plateau, is one of the only in France to be listed as a European Sacred Mount and Historic Monument.

Tairraz Centre - Crystal Museum

The museum is currently closed for renovation works. Opening scheduled for August 2021. This museum is the result of a collaboration between the Mineralogy Club of Chamonix, Mont-Blanc and the Northern Alps and the City of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc.

Church of Notre Dame de la Gorge
